Schools of Opportunity, a project created by The National Education Policy Center at CU Boulder, is rewarding high schools in Colorado and New York working to increase student success through research-focused cirriculums and a weak reliance on selective testing.

The Colorado Commission on Higher Education held a public meeting Thursday to determine ways to allocate new state funds given to the University of Colorado school system. As stated in the new House Bill 14-1319, the commission is responsible for distributing funds to all state schools and developing tuition guidelines.

The “I Have a Dream” Foundation held their largest fundraiser to date Thursday in support of their mission to invest in the education of underprivileged children. This year, the group will provide 15 low-income students at Columbine Elementary School with mentors and partial tuition at a 4-year college.
