Ashley McLeod

79ed3a98-194e-4119-b8dc-cdb4ec887ad5Ashley McLeod is a  reporter, graphic designer, and photographer who is currently working on a master’s degree in environmental journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Ashley earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with a minor in Italian from Virginia Commonwealth University located in Richmond. She also studied at the Universita per Stranieri in Italy. Following graduation Ashley began working at Hopewell Publishing Company, located just south of Richmond, where she spent years reporting on news in the area, as well as doing photography, graphic design and copy editing, and she was responsible for design of the two newspapers and numerous magazines printed at the business. Ashley left her position at the publishing company in order to relocate to Colorado to attend school.

Ashley has had work published in numerous newspapers across Virginia as a reporter for Capital News Service, covering the Virginia General Assembly. She also worked at a small Richmond paper, the Henrico Times, and has written for her hometown paper in Fredericksburg, Virginia, the Free-Lance Star.
