Born and raised in Los Angeles, Margaux moved to Colorado shortly after high school. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a strong focus on creative writing at the University of Colorado Boulder. In college, she took a chance. Just when everyone was easing into their third year, she hopped on a plane to Israel and spent her junior year at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She spent time with a spectrum of Israel’s citizens – everyone from Orthodox Jews to Palestinians who traveled from the West Bank every day to attend her same classes. She was drawn most to the stories told with a color and depth not seen in the narrowly reported international news regarding the region. These nuanced experiences – “grey areas” – are what interested her the most about being a journalist. She is adamant about committing herself to being a professional observer and executioner of personal insights.
