This month, the Boulder Ballet and Boulder Philharmonic are coming together to bring a Christmas favorite to life.
Despite the gruesome, dark origins of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s original story, The Nutcracker has remained incredibly popular. Piotr Tchaikovsky’s ballet has become a Christmas pastime since the New York Ballet Company performed in 1954.
The first performance of The Nutcracker will be on Nov. 25 in the Macky Auditorium at 2 p.m. Additional performances will be on Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 27 at 2 p.m.
