Film, flying and fear on The Front Range: a weekend round up of spooky events

There’s something for everyone who loves Halloween this weekend in Boulder County. The Dickens Horror Film Festival in Longmont will showcase classic and contemporary horror cinema in the historic Dickens Opera House.  There will be  makeup and costume workshops and panels at 3 and 6 p.m., and a costume dance party at 10 p.m. on Friday, October 21.

For a family friendly Halloween event, check out  Iluminar Aerial Dance in Broomfield. The troupe will perform aerial acrobatics in Nightmare in the Air , an interpretation of Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas.” Wear a costume! Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Join the undead on Saturday, October 22 in Denver for the 11th Annual Denver Zombie Crawl. Festivities, which include an urban scavenger hunt, begin at Skyline Park at 9 a.m. Participants might benefit from makeup artist’s tips, participate in a costume contest, and attend a zombie prom. The Zombie Crawl parade begins at 4 p.m
