Boulder health and recreation: Start off October with beer, Pilates and chakra healing

Green Beer Festival offers brew and activism

Head to Central Park this weekend for the Boulder Green Beer Festival—where the beer isn’t (necessarily) green, but the activism behind this grassroots event is. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Check out a motivational speech by  Master of Ceremonies Bruce Baumann, of We Are Change Colorado, as well as more than 10 live music acts, live painting and exhibits, and a “Handmade in Colorado” expo. There’s even a kids area for your little ones. Prices range from $26.62 for a one day bottomless brew cup to $47.12 for both days, taxes and fees included.

Boulder Psychic Institute offers aura and chakra healings—for free?!

You heard that right. Get your 15 minutes of healing free of charge every Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Institute, located at 1332 Pearl St. Some of the proclaimed benefits of aura and chakra healing include stress relief, relaxation, better sleep and an increase in spiritual growth. Donations are appreciated, and this service runs through Dec. 15.

Power through Pilates on Pearl Street

Luv Pilates in Boulder is teaming up with Wonder Press, located at 946 Pearl St., every Wednesday for an hour of strengthening and stretching. This moderate to advanced class is $15 and runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the price includes a $5 voucher for a Wonder juice, nut milk or coffee.
