Get inspired this October. Explore artist’s studios, purchase local handmade items directly from the crafter, and check out a huge photography exhibition this weekend!
The Open Studios Tour takes place the first 2 weekends of October annually and opens the doors of over 100 diverse Boulder artists to the public. The community is invited to learn about the artists’ creative process and purchase pieces of art. Artists mediums are as varied as their locations all around Boulder: mixed media, encaustic, painting, photography, printmaking, woodwork, ceramics and glass, are some examples of what will be showcased on the tour.
The 7th annual Handmade in Colorado Expo is a juried showcase of Colorado’s best handmade arts, crafts, and goods. All merchandise displayed is sold directly by the artist. Over 120 exhibitors will represent a wide range of media. In addition to supporting local artists, you can enjoy live music, food vendors, and activities for children. The expo is held October 1 and 2 in Boulder’s Central Park and admission is free.
Celebration! A History of the Visual Arts in Boulder(HOVAB) is a community-wide, multiple venue event that celebrates Boulder’s diverse visual arts past. The opening reception for one of the many shows in HOVAB showcases the work of 18 artists. Peripheral Landscapes in Photography will be held at Highland at 885 Arapahoe Avenue.
