Glimpses into the lives of homeless families in Boulder

Members of homeless families in Boulder shared their stories on Sept. 8, 2016 during a discussion group with community members and homeless service providers. Some of the speakers were currently “homeless, formerly homeless, and on the verge of homelessness,” according to the Daily Camera.

Sleepless in…NYC
According to The New York Times, there are 12,913 homeless families in New York City.  Unfortunately, most of them are also sleep deprived due to the never-ending shuffle between shelters and lines lasting 12 hours at the housing center.

Attention needed for homeless students in Washington
Washington state claimed 35,511 public school students as homeless at one point in 2015. In the suburban school districts The Seattle Times interviewed, homeless children often did not share their homeless status with the school as an effort to avoid stigma.
