BOULDER COALITION AGAINST SUGARY DRINK TAX

Boulder coalition against the sugary drink tax was introduced by the American Beverage Association. This coalition, comprised of Bova’s Market & Grill, Zolo Grill, Salvaggio’s Deli and Ball Corporation beverage can producers as well as many more, aims to insure that prices on beverage and grocery items will not be raised.

The soda tax will be on a ballot in November, thanks to a Boulder District Judge and has received a lot of attention from politicians, including Senator Bernie Sanders, who was quoted as saying that this was a “totally regressive tax.”

The coalition lists many negative affects that this tax would impose on the local community and urges people to study the tax thoroughly. Community members are also encouraged to join the coalition and their efforts if they are compelled to do so.
