Park conservation and mountain biking: this weekend in Boulder

VALMONT CITY PARK VOLUNTEER DAY

Valmont City Park in Boulder is looking for volunteers this Saturday.

Local residents interested in repairing trails, removing weeds and do a general cleanup are welcome to join staff members in maintaining the park.

Organizers recommend to bring a hat, water and good shoes. Individuals of all ages are encouraged to join.

Those who are interested can meet at 9 a.m. at the pavilion in the park’s plaza, 3160 Airport Road, Boulder.

INTERNATIONAL TAKE A KID MOUNTAIN BIKING DAY

The Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance is hosting a mountain bike event for kids this Saturday.

Biking activities will be available for the whole family. These include short track races and bicycle tune-ups. It is a great event for all those interested in learning more about Boulder’s bike paths and open air activities.

The event will be held at the Valmont Bike park from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL AT THE SOUTH BOULDER RECREATION CENTER

The South Boulder Recreation Center will host an event for children ages three to five this Friday.

The center organized a variety of games, crafts and face painting. Children are encouraged to bring their own costumes as prizes will be given out to the best ones.

The event will occur from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The registration price is $5 and it includes snacks.
