Little Big Government: November 14

By Roxann Elliott

Longmont has reopened the application process for its Flood Recovery Housing Programs. The programs offer rental assistance, home repair, and down payment assistance to eligible residents. Preference will be given to the disabled and elderly as well as those who resided in mobile homes. The application process closes April 30, 2015.

Boulder residents are encouraged to provide their input on the temporary moratorium placed on building permits for residential space in the University Hill business district. The city is holding open hours on Nov. 19 and 20 and an open house on Nov. 19 at Spark Boulder.

Boulder’s Rollie Heath, former Colorado Senate majority leader, was named assistant minority leader in the wake of the Republican party taking the majority in the Colorado Senate. Heath was elected to the state Senate in 2008 and named majority leader in 2013.
