Environmental Round-Up

The 5,000 or so remaining Gunnison Sage Grouse that live only in Colorado and Utah have been listed as officially threatened. Protecting grouse often involves closing roadways during the springtime nesting season.

Southwestern rivers are drying up, but that’s nothing new. New Mexico is facing a big decision about how to manage the Gila River, a potential “Ghost River” of the future.

A wolf from the Rockies was spotted at the Grand Canyon, beyond the expected range of these animals. Conservationists hope this is a good sign for the health of the Rockies’ wolf population.
