Arts and Culture Around Boulder

More than 100 people showed up for a casting call held in Boulder on the first saturday in November. The casting was to find extras for the upcoming romantic comedy “Christmastime.” The film has a budget of $3.5 million. Part of the movie will be filmed on Pearl Street this month.

Quentin Tarantino’s new film has been officially approved to film in Colorado outside Telluride. A group of San Miguel County Commissioners approved the permit for the Western called The Hateful Eight to start filming as soon as possible. The film’s budget is $44 million, with an estimated $25 million of that to be spent in Colorado.

Denver Arts Week is a nine-day celebration of the city’s art and culture scene. The celebration takes place from Nov. 7-16 and encompasses more than 300 events across more than 150 galleries, museums and cultural institutions. This year the event hopes to spread awareness about all different types of art.
